Alternative to wheat germ oil
Hello! Some recipes call for a lot of wheat germ oil, which my dog isn’t very fond of when there’s a lot of it. Can this be replaced with something else—perhaps seeds/kernels, vitamin E in capsules, etc.?
- Hi! Thank you for your input 🐶 Wheat germ oil is primarily included in the recipes to meet vitamin E requirements and, in some cases, as a source of fat. If your dog doesn’t like it, you can replace it with vitamin E in capsule form—but the amount must be adjusted precisely so the recipe stays balanced. We're working on a technical solution that will let you choose between different options right in the recipe—such as wheat germ oil or vitamin E tablets—and get the correct amount automatically. This would make it much easier to adjust according to taste, availability or intolerances, and it is something we hope to implement in the future! 🤞🏼
- Oh, great! I look forward to it! 😊❤️
- I made the urinary diet with chicken, pork and cod today. The dog was very interested, but was a little disappointed when he got his portion with Dr Baddaky and wheat germ oil added... Can you help me with tips on which vitamin E supplement I can use instead of wheat germ oil? He needs as much as 6.6 g of wheat germ oil per day. And then I'll try to switch to Dr Baddaky in capsule form, if they are still available.
- Hi! I've written an article about this and what you can replace it with 😊 {{ARTICLE:can-i-replace-wheat-germ-oil:Can I replace wheat germ oil?}}
