Can you use AND VOM on an elimination diet?

Can I use duck from VOM in an elimination diet? I started reading the packaging and wonder if extra vitamins have been added, so is that a problem?

• Yes, you can use it, and in that case you do not need to add the supplements included in the homemade recipe. The only important thing to be aware of is that there is a potential for cross-contamination, as commercial dog food is produced in factories where several different protein sources are used. • Hi, I’m jumping in on this thread as I’ve been wondering the same thing 😅 since VOM Duck is only available in wet form, are there absolutely no supplements needed if you use this in the elimination diet with duck? Just VOM Duck, sweet potato and hemp seeds? And do you still cook the duck? Will that affect the supplements that have already been added in any way? 😊
• Since Vom And is not a complete feed, it shouldn’t be used as the sole feed over a prolonged period, but it’s perfectly suitable for use during an elimination diet 😊 Cooking will affect the nutritional content, so it should not be cooked, but given raw together with cooked sweet potato. Since Vom And already contains added manganese, you don’t need to add hemp seeds as well. However, be mindful of cross-contamination; there may be traces of other protein sources in the food that could compromise the diet (though it may also be fine) 🤞🏼
• Thanks for your reply 😊 I have a male dog who has been diagnosed with mild gastroenteritis and has been unwell since 20 March. He has lost 2.2 kg since then (from 26.6 to 24.4 kg) because, as well as being unwell, he is quite fussy about his food, and we have tried giving him food other than the raw diet he usually has, as he needs easily digestible food for a while. I’ve tried the elimination diet here with seafile, which he wouldn’t eat after three meals… He doesn’t eat much game either (elk, deer, etc.) 😫 I’d therefore like to try the elimination diet with duck, but I realise it will be quite expensive in the long run if I have to buy enough duck fillet/duck breast 😅 He’s had a bit of Taste Duck before (not very often or in large quantities) and seems to like it.
