Oysters

Hi, is there actually anything that can replace oysters? I don’t think one of my dogs likes them at all 😀 I tried it and she consistently threw up that food… but never does that with anything else!

• Hi 😊 I see the challenge – some dogs have quite strong opinions about oysters/mussels 😄 Oysters/mussels are included in the recipe to meet the zinc requirement. If you simply remove them without replacing the zinc, there will be a slight zinc deficiency over time. It’s fine to give the recipe without oysters from time to time, but be aware that it won’t then be complete (and it doesn’t need to be every day). Since working out the exact amount of zinc yourself can be a bit fiddly, I’d recommend using a recipe that’s been formulated without oysters, where zinc has already been added as a supplement in the correct amount.
