eggshell powder vs calcium powder

Hi! As I understand it, the eggshell powder can be replaced by the calcium powder available in the online shop, but does this apply to all the recipes? Will this be updated in due course, if so? Eggshell powder is listed as an ingredient in all ‘my’ recipes and, according to Saga, it can’t just be swapped out without further ado. :)

• Hi Pia 🙂 You’re absolutely right that you can replace eggshell powder with {{PRODUCT:calcium-carbonate-powder:Calcium Carbonate Powder}} We recommend this to be absolutely certain that there are no traces of chicken protein in the calcium added to the food. Eggshell powder will normally be free from chicken protein if handled correctly, but to be on the safe side, we recommend a pure calcium supplement instead 😅 Saga is currently restricted from allowing ingredient substitutions for safety reasons 🐾
