Your Profile Page Explained
Learn how to use your Profile page to personalize your experience, manage dog profiles, control notifications, and access support.
Setting Up Your Account
Your Profile page is your personal dashboard where you can manage your account settings and customize your experience. **Profile Photo**: Your profile image appears as a mini avatar in comments and forum discussions. Click "Upload Photo" to add a picture that represents you in the community. **Full Name**: Enter your full name in the account settings. Your first name will be visible when you post comments or participate in forum discussions. **Measurement System**: Choose between Metric (kg, g, ml) or Imperial (lbs, oz, fl oz) to see recipe measurements in your preferred units.
Managing Your Dogs
The "My Dogs" section is where you add and manage profiles for each of your dogs. This information is used to calculate personalized serving sizes based on your dog's specific needs. For each dog, you can set: - **Name and breed** for identification - **Current weight** used to calculate metabolic weight - **Life stage** (puppy, adult, senior, active, etc.) which affects daily energy requirements The system automatically calculates: - **Metabolic Weight** (MW = weight^0.75) — accounts for the relationship between body size and metabolism - **Daily Energy Requirement (DER)** — the total calories your dog needs per day Click the edit icon on any dog card to update their information as they grow or their activity level changes.
Starting Nutritional Assessments
Each dog profile has a "Nutritional Assessments" section where you can start a new nutritional analysis. Click the "+ New Assessment" button to begin Saga's guided assessment process. Food assessments help you: - Analyze your dog's current diet - Get personalized nutrition recommendations - Understand if your dog's diet meets their specific needs Previously completed assessments are listed here with their reference numbers and dates, so you can review past recommendations anytime.
Notification Preferences
Control how you receive updates about activity on your posts and comments in the "Notification Preferences" section. **Email Frequency**: Choose how often you want to receive notification emails: - **Immediately** — Receive emails right away when someone replies - **Daily digest** — Get a summary of all activity once per day - **Off** — Disable notification emails completely **Notification Types** (when emails are enabled): - **Forum topic replies** — Get notified when someone replies to your forum topics - **Comment replies** — Get notified when someone replies to your comments on recipes or articles Your preferences are saved automatically whenever you make a change.
Newsletter Subscription
Stay updated with the latest recipes, nutrition tips, and platform news by subscribing to our newsletter. The newsletter toggle is independent from your notification settings — you can turn off activity notifications while still receiving our newsletter, or vice versa. Simply toggle the "Newsletter" switch on or off to manage your subscription. We respect your preferences and will only send marketing emails if you've opted in.
